Bring your best friend and learn how to make friendship bracelets as we honor Women's History Month and local history legends/best friends Jane Addams and Julia Lathrop. Register each child, please.
Local history legends Jane Addams and Julia Lathrop were friends who first met in Rockford about 150 years ago. If friendship bracelets had been popular when Jane and Julia were young, each would have definitely worn one! Meet in the Friends of RPL Community Room (at East Branch) to learn how to make a friendship bracelet. Even better, bring your best friend along and make matching ones if you want! Please arrive on time as there will be a couple of short, simple tutorials followed by time to work on your bracelet of choice. Registration recommended to ensure adequate supplies. Register each child by name, please.
For children ages 6 - 11.
Come visit the East Branch, located in the former Barnes & Noble building on East State St. The East Branch offers a 65-seat meeting room, free Wi-Fi, quiet study rooms, special areas for children and adults, and an expanded collection of books and media, as well as a Friends of RPL book shop.
