RPL, PFLAG Rockford, and The Liam Foundation present this film screening to celebrate LGBT History Month. Enjoy a good movie with your friends and family and learn about LGBTQ+ history and struggles.
This event will feature the first two episodes of the drama series, When We Rise.
TV Show Summary: Based on the memoirs of LGBT activist Cleve Jones, When We Rise chronicles the personal and political struggles, set-backs, and triumphs of a diverse group of LGBTQ+ individuals who helped pioneer a portion of the civil rights movement from its infancy in the 20th century to the successes of today. The 45-year saga tells the evolving history of the modern gay rights movement, starting just after the Stonewall riots in 1969.
TV Show duration: Each episode is 43 minutes, for a total 86 minutes.
Seating is limited to 10 people in the theater due to COVID regulations. All attendees will be required to wear a face mask at The Nordlof Center and will be encouraged to sit distanced from other groups.
