This free 10-week program is a mix of exercise, bingo, prizes and fun! Adults age 60+ must register for this program held every Mon. & Fri. 7/17 - 9/25 (except 9/4). Three ways to register; see below.
Bingocize®! meets twice a week for 30 minutes each, is taught by a qualified, experienced Lifescape Health and Wellness Coordinator, is limited to 20 participants, and will be held at East Branch Library (6685 E. State St.). Register each participant via RPL's website at www.rockfordpubliclibrary.org or by calling East Branch's main line at 815-966-2748 any time, (or 815-966-9755 after July 4 where you can leave a message with NAME AND PHONE #). You can also register in person at East Branch's Help Desk. Sign up with a friend or two and make it even more fun!
According to the Lifescape website, Bingocize® is designed to benefit older adults looking for a fun activity, seeking socialization, interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength, who restrict activities due to concerns about falling, who are ambulatory (able to walk unassisted), and who are able to problem solve.
Evidence shows social, cognitive, and physical improvements when Bingocize® is used regularly, according to Lifescape. "The Bingocize® program meets the highest-level criteria for evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs as established by the Administration on Aging Evidence-Based Programs Review Committee. The Health Communities Institute also recognized it as an evidence-based practice."
